Welcome to all students returning to Tesla University and to our new incoming students. Many thanks to all the dedicated staff, faculty, researchers and founders of our new university. It has been an exciting journey to expand our world of knowledge and impart on our next generation. We have a goal to provide a wealth of knowledge into our future through you our students so that you may impact our world whether it is Aruba, across the ocean or in other parts of the world to impact our globe through your contributions.
I want to encourage all of you to continue to work hard for your education here at Tesla University so that you will go from here and change our world. Our opportunities are endless, but it will take a lot of work in development and understanding to achieve the highest goals of strong leadership and the best students any institute could ask for. We want all students to know that we are open to listening and developing programs that will suit the needs of our future generations making each one of you highly acclaimed and sought after in your field with the expectation that you will someday move mountains where mountains may not even exist today.
We are excited for the future of engineering in our changing world. We have met with many accomplishments this past year. We will continue to foster relationships of our students and faculty with that of the research leaders and entrepreneurs of the world. There is much work ahead of us to continue to grow and strengthen our position as a leading educational institute here in Aruba and around the world.
As we begin this new school year journey together, I urge each one of you to be focused and completely engaged in your education and thinking ahead to the next generation so that they too can make a difference. You will continue to learn and grow as you rely on your expertise, innovation, collaboration, and contributions to the future. Things are moving faster in our innovative and technology driven world in which society continues to rely on more and more. The key development for our future generations lies in your hands in providing solutions to everyday problems, right up to the global challenges that we face today, tomorrow and in the years to come.
To quote Nikola Tesla (for which our university is named after), “Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.” Strive to do your best to get the most out of this important part of your life, your education. This will guide your future.
Encouraging you always,
Emily Anne Cheung
